Hybrid rootstock, deciduous. Prunus avium x P. pseudocerasus 70-80% the size of mazzard, used for fruiting and flowering cherries. Resistant to crown gall, cherry replant disease and bacterial canker.

E. China. Tall deciduous conifer with whorled branches. 15-30 green umbrella-like spreading needles on the shoot tip, turning orange-yellow in autumn. Growth is slow in NZ, and the tree is winter hardy in the UK. Seed raised, rarely available.

N.E. China and Korea. Fast growing deciduous tree with rounded form. Masses of white flowers in spring. Fruit from seedlings variable in size and texture, but readily eaten by stock and birds. Used as an understock for Nashi.

Medium size evergreen oak from the warmer parts of China, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong and north of Vietnam. Grows on ridge tops and slopes in mature or primary tropical & subtropical forest at 500-2200m. Leaves narrow and hang down. Growing at Eastwoodhill, none have survived outside in the UK.
