Small leaved kophai Ht 5-25m
Can grow to 25m usually a single trunk, branches spreading and weeping. Adult leaflets 30-50, not crowded or overlapping, of similar size, with an obvious petiolule, moderately to sparcely hairy, hairs straight and appressed. Leaves >30mm, leaflet pairs >6. Juveniles divaricating & interlacing branching. Can be deciduous in a cold climate. To 7 Yellow flowers in a bunch in Spring attract tuis and bellbirds, pigeons feed on the leaves.

A native perrenial, the Rega Renga is a favoured native landscape plant for covering ground under trees. Tolerating full sun to full shade it works superbly to add foliage and flowers in areas most shrubs won't thrive. White star-shaped flowers arrive in early summer that stand out over lush green leaves. Can be frosted back in cold areas. We need to dispatch in Autumn. Will grow to 1m by 1m.

Narrow-leaved mahoe Ht 5-6m
Small evergreen tree found in wetter areas throughout NZ most frequently at higher, cooler altitudes and in frosty valleys. Leaves are long soft, parallel-sided with many small marginal teeth. Bark is smooth and light brown. Flowers are small in clusters most abundant on woody twigs below the leaves,
yellow for female, purple for males on separate trees, flowering mid-winter to early summer. Fruits 4-6mm dark purple late winter to late summer.
