Queensland, Australia. An Evergreen tree with a great dernse and tidy habit. Utilised as a street tree in Aussie and the U.S due to it's lack of required maintenance. Highly pest and disease tolerant it will grow happily in both poorly drained and dry soils. Suitable for warmer frost free climates.

A hybrid M. denudata x M. liliflora. Broadly spreading, deciduous. Large saucer-like flowers, varying shades andcombinations of purple and white. A stunning display before the leaves emerge.

Collected from a wet frost flat in the mountains of Honshu.Broadly spreading, deciduous. Prolific white flowers followed by tiny 5mm shiny red apples in February, popular for bonsai. Seed eating birds love the fruit.

Small evergreen tree found in wetter areas throughout NZ most frequently at higher, cooler altitudes and in frosty valleys. Leaves are long soft, parallel-sided with many small marginal teeth. Bark is smooth and light brown. Flowers are small in clusters most abundant on woody twigs below the leaves, yellow for female, purple for males on separate trees, flowering mid-winter to early summer. Fruits 4-6mm dark purple late winter to late summer.
